Registration Options Include:
Full Week-long Program
The week-long program starts Monday late afternoon, July 8th, with check-in and a welcoming evening presentation. Morning workshops will be held Tuesday-Saturday with open mics and faculty readings in the evenings. We’ll close with a Sunday morning panel and presentation. Weekend highlights include a Friday night Keynote presentation by Cheryl Strayed, panels on both weekend days, and the ever-entertaining “Fishtrap Live” on Saturday night $680 (does not include meals or lodging).
Youth Workshops
We are offering two morning workshops for youth, ages 11-17, Tuesday-Saturday. It is important to note that Fishtrap requires each attending youth under the age of 18 to have an adult sponsor/chaperone onsite who will be responsible for them when they are not in the workshop. We do not offer a youth-oriented afternoon or evening program, although youth are welcome to attend all of the afternoon and evening events at the discretion of their chaperones. $295 (does not include meals or lodging).
Outpost
Please note that the Outpost check-in is on Sunday, July 7, and runs through Friday at noon, although we strongly encourage participants to also register for the weekend at Summer Fishtrap. The Outpost includes all meals Sunday dinner through Friday lunch, transportation from Enterprise to The Zumwalt Prairie, and bunkhouse or tent accommodations Sunday through Thursday nights. Visit www.fishtrap.org for more details. $790
Weekend Only
For those unable to attend the full week-long program, or attending the Outpost, we offer a weekend-only option that includes a keynote address by Cheryl Strayed, a 1-day workshop with Don Snow, and other weekend activities. The Weekend Only option runs from Friday dinner through Sunday brunch and includes all meals. $215 (lodging not included).
Lodging
There are many levels of lodging available at Wallowa Lake Camp on a full week basis, from tent spaces to private deluxe round cabins–we call them “yurts.” Yurts are sold as a full space, so start talking to your friends about possibly sharing a yurt. REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
How to Register
Register by clicking “Register Online Now” at the very top of this page. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Payment
Payment is required in full at time of registration. This is a change from past years when a spot could be held with only a deposit.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
$100 of your registration fee is considered a nonrefundable deposit. Other than the deposit, you will receive a 100% refund if you cancel by May 1, a 50% refund if you cancel by June 1, and the no refund period begins on June 2. If it is necessary for Fishtrap to cancel a workshop, you will be notified promptly and may choose to enroll in another workshop or receive a full refund, including the deposit.
Lodging
Summer Fishtrap is based at Wallowa Lake Camp and Retreat Center. You can choose from three levels of lodging at the camp.
Deluxe cabins/”yurts” can fit one to five people and each has its own bathroom; sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels are supplied. If you would like to rent a yurt, you must rent the whole yurt – we will no longer rent individual beds within a yurt. The person who rents the yurt can share with others, so start talking to your friends about possibly sharing a yurt. Payment in full for the yurt is required by the registrant who rents the yurt.
Rustic bunkhouses offer beds with bare mattresses and bathroom facilities in nearby buildings; you should bring your own sleeping bag, pillow, or other bedding. Each bunkhouse style bed can be rented separately. If you rent a bed in a bunkhouse you will be sharing the bunkhouse space with up to eight people.
Tent spaces and limited RV spaces are also available; campers use the same bathroom facilities as bunkhouse occupants.
You can register for the lodging listed above by following a link from the top of this page starting on February 26th 2013.
You may choose to stay in lodging other than that offered by us at the camp. For a list of other lodging alternatives, contact the Wallowa County Chamber of Commerce at 800-585-4121. There are many cabins and bed and breakfasts in the area, although they do fill up early, so we recommend reserving your spot soon.
Meals
Meals are served cafeteria style at Wallowa Lake Camp and feature fresh local produce. Please indicate on the registration form if you prefer vegetarian fare. The Wallowa Lake Camp may accommodate other dietary restrictions with advance notice, but will need your help in providing alternatives to some dishes. Register for meals online starting on February 26th 2013.
