Ann Whitfield Powers

Executive Director – ann@fishtrap.org

Ann Whitfield Powers, Executive Director holds an MA in English from Florida State University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Pacific Lutheran University. Before Fishtrap, she was Development Director for two of Portland’s Waldorf Schools, taught literature and creative writing at Linfield College, and served as Executive Director for the Florida Public Interest Research Group. She now lives in Joseph with her husband and two sons, age 7 and 13.

Ben Hayes

Program Coordinator – ben@fishtrap.org

Ben Hayes, Program Coordinator graduated from Whitman College with a degree in Environmental Humanities. An avid river-runner, he grew up in Western Oregon and now lives outside of Joseph. When not working at Fishtrap, Ben guides river trips around the Northwest, builds wooden boats and fine furniture at his shop in Joseph, and throws bug puppets at fish in the hopes that they will rise to the occasion.

Heather Tyreman, Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant grew up in Anaheim, CA and graduated from Pomona College. After 20 years of army service and world travel, she and her husband settled in Joseph to open The Bronze Antler, their bed and breakfast.

Media Coordinator – janis@fishtrap.org

Janis Carper, Media Coordinator was raised on a ranch in Eastern Washington. When she isn’t working as Fishtrap’s media coordinator and jill-of-all-trades, Janis can be found gathering morels, writing songs, and playing music. She also founded and directs the Wallowa Valley Music Alliance.
