Fishtrap Scholarship Programs
Fishtrap has several scholarships to help those who would not otherwise be able to attend Fishtrap events. Most scholarships are partial – they cover part but not all of the cost to attend. We currently have three named scholarship funds for which applications are accepted only at certain times. Since 2005, over 25 individuals have received scholarships from these three funds.
We often can also provide help to deserving applicants on an ad-hoc basis at any time. If you wish to attend a Fishtrap event, need financial assistance to do so, but find that none of the scholarship programs listed below are available, please feel free to contact the Fishtrap executive director by phone, letter, or email.
If you would like to donate to an existing scholarship fund, or would like to start a new scholarship fund at Fishtrap, please contact the Fishtrap executive director by phone, letter, or email.

The Sally Bowerman Memorial Scholarship
After Sally Bowerman’s death in 2004, family members and people in her longstanding writing group, “The Write People,” decided to raise money to give a Fishtrap scholarship to someone like Sally, a “working woman.” The scholarship helps cover the cost of a week‑long Summer Fishtrap writing workshop and room and board for the week.
