Alyssa Halton will teach this writing workshop Wednesdays from 7 – 9 PM, beginning February 11, at the Fishtrap House, 400 E. Grant Street, Enterprise. Registration fee is $50. [Register online here]
This will be an open-genre, generative workshop, intended to be accessible to writers of all skill level and experience.
Weekly writing prompts will be designed such that their product might take the form of poetry or prose. We will spend time in class on a weekly basis discussing published works which span varied styles and genres—it is my hope that, with a diverse workshop group, we can all benefit from borrowing from the tool belt of genres less familiar to us.
This class will be thematically grounded in an investigation into the role that place plays in our writing. Workshop members will be asked to bring in pieces of writing which they feel illustrate particularly compelling uses of place as a key feature.
Workshop members will also have the opportunity to share and receive feedback on their own work over the course of the 6 week class.
The class is designed to help stimulate artistic output, but we’re going to have a lot of fun doing it. Join us!
