The first time MIKE MIDLO crossed the Oregon Trail was back in 1979, playing a video game in the library of his Minnesota elementary school. His wagon train did not make it. Then in 1995, he tried again. Only this time he traveled the trail driving an old Toyota van. It took a while. Then one day it appeared, The Pacific Wonderland. Mike looked over the countryside and thought, “We made it to Oregon. This is the place.” That’s true. Fast forward now to 2013. After more than a decade producing documentaries and features for Oregon Public Broadcasting, Mike Midlo landed in Wallowa County and at Fishtrap. He is proud to curate high quality literary arts and humanities programs for the people of the West. And couldn’t be happier.
