Times Like These: Recovering Renewal

Youth entering grades 9-12

Welcome to life. Has it surprised you yet? Sometimes lemons; sometimes little fires everywhere. Join poet and lyrical essayist Cameron Scott and your fellow writers in this week-long generative workshop that explores topics like the weight of secrets, the nature of nature, and the nature of art and identity. Get your mojo working with blizzards of imagery and life-driven narratives. Root in the writings of fellow Fishtrap Faculty members. Find your words of renewal.

Cameron Scott is a writer, teacher, and fly-fishing guide who lives in NE Oregon with his wife, newborn daughter Magnus, and two island dogs from South Andros. His work has appeared in various fly-fishing magazines like The Drake, The Fly-Fishing and Tying Journal, Swing the Fly, Trout’s ‘The Current,’ Tail, and The Flyfish Journal. He teaches 7th-12th grade English. If he could transport himself anywhere, it would be to a middle-of-nowhere flat in the ocean, but really, any center of the known or unknown universe will do.
