Summer Fishtrap 2014 – Weekend

After five days of generative writing workshops, Summer Fishtrap transitions to a weekend of activities and discussion celebrating this year’s theme, “What the River Says: The Art of Listening in a Turbulent World.”  The weekend promotes a lively exchange of ideas between writers, historians, and scientists all in the inspiring setting of Wallowa Lake. Friday night kicks-off with a dinner and keynote presentation by award-winning poet, Naomi Shihab Nye followed by a book signing and social hour. Saturday continues with engaging panel discussions exploring the ideals, poetry and life of poet, William Stafford. Take your pick from a selection of afternoon activities including literary presentations, conversations, breakout sessions, even a hike along Wallowa Lake’s East moraine. Saturday night features “Fishtrap Live,” a showcase of readings, music, performances, and a few surprises. Enjoy a Sunday morning brunch with more thought-provoking discussions and presentations. Take a look at our entire Summer Fishtrap Weekend schedule below for details.
