Fishtrap is pleased to share some comments from participants in our first ever virtual writers conference:

Happy to find we could make a writing community remotely. Very rich workshop experience and appreciated the readings and craft talks…Highlights: being in the flow of writing for a whole week, finding some new writing friends, being inspired to keep the writing muscle flexed.

I enjoyed the freedom to tune into craft workshops (amazing) and readings.

I loved the online format! Social hour was a great addition. Absolutely wonderful experience. I hope to attend every year for the rest of my life 🙂

I thought the readings and craft talks were the highlights along with the critique of my writing.

Thank you for bringing the ethnic diversity of writers and also some home-grown Oregonians. I liked being able to access the videos of events because I couldn’t fully clear my schedule or was writing during the afternoons.

I am deeply grateful that Fishtrap staff took this hair-raising plunge into the electronic format. Thanks for everything you do!

Working with workshop participants and creating a bond with them was a highlight. The group and our instructor were incredibly supportive, which created an environment that felt safe and receptive to opening up and trying new things.

There’s nothing like being together in person – but it was all better than expected! It was kind of nice to be able to watch the craft talks and readings at a later/more convenient time.

Each time I attend Fishtrap, I find my mind and creative soul rising higher. You all did a great job navigating tech for us and building virtual community.

I was skeptical about the forum but was very pleasantly surprised. Still such a magical, powerful and wondrous place. Transcends little screens!
