Youth workshops will be offered in person at Joseph Charter School, and online via Zoom.
In-person workshops will be hosted at Joseph Charter School in the mornings during the week of Summer Fishtrap, July 12-18. This option is available only for Wallowa County residents and fully vaccinated students living elsewhere. Students will follow the same public health protocols put out by the school.
The opportunity to participate in a Summer Fishtrap Youth Workshop virtually is available to youth who live outside Wallowa County. The virtual workshops will take place online in the afternoons during the week of Summer Fishtrap, July 12-18. *Local Wallowa County youth who would prefer to participate virtually may choose this option instead of meeting in person.
About our youth scholarships:
We value the place writing can hold in a person’s life, and recognize that various circumstances can prevent a writer from being able to participate in the many transformative opportunities offered at Summer Fishtrap. That’s why, in partnership with generous individual donations and foundations, we are committed to offering scholarships to help offset some of the costs in attending the annual weeklong gathering.
Who can apply?
Fishtrap offers several specific scholarship opportunities for young writers ages 10-18 who have not yet graduated from high school. Applicants will be considered based on financial need, age, and a personal letter describing how Summer Fishtrap can enrich your writing.
Applications will be accepted through June 1, 2021.
