Pick up a script. Find a voice. Make new friends.
Do you love theatre? Had some on-stage experience? Or are you curious about acting but never tried it before? Come play with us! Local theatre-lover Susan Munger will provide you with short, lively monologues, duologues, and short skits—funny, serious, strange, tender, dramatic, or just plain unexpected—that we can try out together.
These are readers-theatre-style drop-ins: no auditions, no memorizing, no experience required. Just bring your curiosity, a little bit of courage, and a sense of humor! Read a monologue, try a two-person scene, make something up with a few friends—or simply listen. Most pieces take one to five minutes, so there’s always time to try another.
Come for the words. Stay for the fun. Discover what your voice can do.
About Susan Munger
Not only a Halloween baby but born in a closet in Washington, D.C. in middle of WW II, Susan felt lucky to grow up near all the art, music, theatre, literature, and history of the Nation’s Capital, enjoying writing and performing – from elementary school to the present day! After moving West, Susan was a member of The Dalles Masqueraders and Cascade Singers, Forest Grove Community Theatre, Westside Singers and Young at Heart Readers Theatre. There she pursued acting, singing, writing, costuming, and directing.
Susan holds an MS from Portland State University in Post-secondary, Adult and Continuing Education and was instructor and curriculum creator at Columbia Gorge Community College in The Dalles, later an administrator at Pacific University in Forest Grove. She has written magazine articles, poetry, plays, short stories and mystery novels.
Susan and her retired husband recently moved to Joseph and live near her daughter and son-in-law. She’s happy to be here among many talented and interesting people, beautiful surroundings, and opportunities to be part of such a vibrant community.
