Each workshop is limited to no more than 13 participants, giving you the opportunity to build connections with a world-class instructor and your fellow writers. Throughout the week, we’ll bring the best of Summer Fishtrap to you through craft talks, discussions, open mics, readings, and a keynote address from Frank X Walker.

A Note About COVID-19
Summer Fishtrap is going virtual for 2021. This was a difficult decision. After consulting with local and regional public health professionals, we came to the conclusion that July is likely still too early in the vaccine rollout to safely hold Summer Fishtrap in person. We do not want to put you, our instructors, or the Fishtrap staff and volunteers at an unnecessary risk.
You can count on being part of a great writing experience at Summer Fishtrap. We learned a lot last summer about how to host a conference online and are already hard at work adapting this year’s conference. This year’s Summer Fishtrap will be even better, easier to access, include new content, and promises to be a more enriching experience for everyone. Nothing can replace the experience of being in the Wallowas together and the Fishtrap staff, and I will miss visiting with all of you in-person, but we are excited to provide special activities for everyone such as virtual hikes, readings, writing prompts, and abilities to connect.
If you’ve already registered, you have the option to join us for the online workshop, transfer your registration to 2022, or receive a refund minus the $100 non-refundable deposit. Click here for more information. If you have questions get in touch Fishtrap’s Program Director, Mike Midlo: mike@fishtrap.org or 541-426-3623.
